Suffolk County mother Denise Graham was honored by Assemblywoman Kimberly Jean-Pierre at the 2018 Women of Distinction Awards Ceremony. The award is for exemplary women who have made a significant difference in the lives of others.
This year’s theme is “NEVERTHELESS SHE PERSISTED: Honoring Women Who Fight All Forms of Discrimination Against Women.”
It’s pretty amazing being a woman, we have all of the essentials for life within us. We’re a very nurturing force, and not only have the power to create life, but to incubate it and deliver it to the world. On an individual level we’re able to change and become whatever we want, growing and developing into the life that we choose. It is an amazing experience and one that you’ll want to create consciously rather than letting others decide what sort of life you’ll have. Margaret Thatcher once said “If you want something said, ask a man; if you want something done, ask a woman.” In honor of National Women’s History Month and the contributions that women have made to history, culture and society. National Women’s History Month is a celebration of women’s contributions to history, culture and society. The Women of Distinction Awards Ceremony will celebrate those accomplishments.
